Product group Verisil / Blancosil

Advantages of using the special silicates of the Verisil / Blancosil product group for pulp bleaching (SGW,RMP,TMP,CTMP) and deinking (compared to standard water glass):

Storage and delivery of the concentrates

• If it is stored in tanks for prolonged periods of time, standard water glass may form certain deposits as a result of the temperature and the carbonic acid in the air. Such undesired deposits have also been observed in pipes.
• The products of the Verisil / Blancosil series are characterized by a high degree of purity and an optimized homogeneous, fairly short-chain structure of the silicate molecules. Therefore they have a far lower tendency to form deposits.
• The viscosity of the Verisil / Blancosil products permits a smooth delivery through pipes at normal operating temperatures.

Stabilization of peroxide bleaching systems

Besides alkali silicates, the products of the Verisil26XX and 28XX and Blancosil 28XX series contain a balanced, synergistically effective stabilizer system of alkaline earth complexes with easily biodegradable hydroxycarboxylic acid compounds. (International patents have been granted).

This ensures an excellent stabilization of peroxide bleaching systems even in the presence of undesired metal ions such as iron, manganese etc.; it is generally not necessary to use ecologically questionable and persistent chelating agents such as DTPA, EDTA etc.

Buffering of the pH value

Special silicates of the Verisil®/ Blancosil® series display excellent buffering properties in alkaline systems; they also frequently allow users to reduce the quantity of caustic soda and thus help prevent the undesired side effects of an excessive use of caustic soda (alkaline yellowing, fiber damage, increased COD quantities in the water circuit etc.).

COD values in the circulation water and the waste water

Experience has shown that an optimized process control combined with the use of Verisil / Blancosil special silicates can significantly lower the concentration of COD in the circulation water and the waste water. (Lower capacity requirement and reduced cost of waste water treatment).

Concentration / Process efficiency

Due to the synergistic stabilizing effect, users require a much lower concentration of Verisil / Blancosil products (and other chemicals), compared to standard water glass - with the same or even better process results. Besides reducing the overall quantity of chemicals in the circulation water, this also leads to far lower SiO2 values.

Reduction of retention/dewatering chemicals

Various users of Verisil / Blancosil tell us that using Verisil / Blancosil products, especially of the Verisil 26XX and 28XX and Blancosil 28XX series, allowed them to use far less cationic retention/dewatering agents due to the lower SiO2 concentration in the system.
